Pastel on black paper

It was a beautiful day and so packed up some supplies and sat by the Charles River in Boston to draw. I generally find landscapes boring, but it was nice to get outside. I'm so used to the sheltered studio life that I forgot how many people will actually approach you when they see you making art....the attention is very strange.

All the boys with their home made microphones have very interesting sounds.

It is strange. Sometimes I draw during class, and the next minute I know I get a swarm of people around me...

But anyways, this is a great piece. It's so calm :aww: And I love the way you blend colors!

You've been piratized!

Oh my, you live in Boston! How lucky can you be! I love it there... and well this painting is very good. You are so good with pastels.

I've been in Boston for 2 years and I love it :)
And thanks :) Pastels are really convenient for on the go drawing...that's one reason I wanted to get back into them. It's so much easier to take a little box out than to pack up paints.

And I'm lost in the window, and I hide in the stairway
And I hang in the curtain, and I sleep in your hat...

It's such a great town....I had a choice between New York City, Chicago, and Cambridge...and the Boston area won my heart right away. :)

I also lived in Chicago, but no, I loved Boston. It was so artistic and full of something in the air... art, science... I have fond memories of Hardvard and the MIT campus I visited, the museums... Again, you are very very lucky!!!
:iconhever:
haha...does it really have that "uncomfortable" feeling to it? ;)
