Pastel on black paper

It was a beautiful day and so packed up some supplies and sat by the Charles River in Boston to draw. I generally find landscapes boring, but it was nice to get outside. I'm so used to the sheltered studio life that I forgot how many people will actually approach you when they see you making art....the attention is very strange.

That's very picturesque. I like how you chose to draw on black paper, it has a really nice effect.

Sometimes I like to be in my invisible bubble when I'm working on my artwork... but it's usually nice that people are interested. :)

thanks.
I prefer to be in my bubble as well...i just don't like being interrupted while I'm working. and I'm awful at small talk. it's nice and all..but...well...it just makes me uncomfortable.

This is really well-done. I love how you did the water and the seagrass. Keep it up.

Looks great. The colors are beautiful.

Somehow I can't imagine you actually being outside.

You can't imagine me being outside? Me neither...I'm practically a recluse. It was a shock to me too.

I kid... I kid.

Haha! Yes, I hissed as soon as I stepped out into the daylight. Funnily enough, I actually got a bit of sunburn (and I consider it my first real sunburn ever).

Ha. I wish I could claim the same. I'm pretty sure that 60% of my body is burned right now.

Here. I found this. Thought you'd enjoy it. [link]
