This is the one I really wanted to do.
Now for a lesson in psychodynamic theory: The Repetition Compulsion is when we do the same thing over and over again in a vicious cycle and whenever we try to make it better, we only make it worse. It is a result of early unresolved childhood issues, and depending on how traumatic the event was, the more so it stifles our behavior. Stemming from the principle, "I long for my mother/ father/ sister/ brother/ etc...and something inside of me is not right" and so you desperately need to relive the situation in order to try to fix it in the hope of feeling something "real". Therefore, I tend to draw/ paint the same subject continuously and Hannibal Lecter eats people. Watercolor. And I am pleased with how it turned out. *P.S. I've added the initial sketch with a detailed explanation of my process if anyone was curious about the steps I took in painting it: [link] |

The More You Know

A young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, that we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively; there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves

i love your watercolour technique!!!
love it!!!
And thanks--I'm really starting to get into watercolor because it dries so fast and I love speckling paint. That was actually my whole reason for painting this...I saw the picture and went, "oh! I can speckle paint on it to look like blood!!"

And I'm lost in the window, and I hide in the stairway
And I hang in the curtain, and I sleep in your hat...
