Because Snape deserves one.
If Snape isn't in his portrait, he has probably wandered over to his other frame: [link]
He tends to do that every once in a while. He'll be back soon enough.

Threw it in the antique frame because it fit.
This one didn't take me too long to do. I got the idea when I looked at the promo photo and realized it reminded me of the portrait of Sir Thomas More: [link]
(I've seen this painting in person at the Frick Museum in NYC and it's absolutely phenomenal)
Here are process photos in case anyone is curious: [link]
Freakin' amazing! I read somewhere that JKR said that Snape would've eventually had a portrait in the office, even though he wouldn't have originally if it weren't for Harry insisting upon it. I especially adore how you added the frame to it, very fitting indeed. You make it sound like an easy 2 hour job... but you're just so good at this.
Thanks very much
It took a little more than 2 hours...about a day and a half. But it's much smaller than my other work. I had the antique frame and I thought it would be neat to see it in it.

I'm doing an eye painting (cliched, I know, but it's practise) and it's only a little over A4 size... and it's taken me 4 hours so far! >< But of course, you have tons more experience than I do.
