Description
This is a sneak peek at some scene painting I did at work. I don't get to do this kind of stuff often there (we do more distressing, faux finishing, texture treatments...etc), so I was thrilled to get to work on this.
It was done for a production of Ariadne auf Naxos by the Boston Symphony Orchestra at Tanglewood last year, and this giant detail reproduction of Polyphemus by Giulio Romano was painted for the set.
It was around 8 feet tall, scenic paints on muslin.

There is so much awesome in this that it's hard to actually point out anything specific, but if held at gunpoint and forced to, I'd have to say: "Holy crap, that beard kicks 32 flavors of ass"
