I remember once at school when our teacher made us try out using charcoal-although we never got to do anything fun with it, we had to draw portraits of popcorn... I haven't eaten popcorn since, nor have I used charcoal. It's just not my thing I suppose...
At least you seem to have mastered the technice, and done so with style too. The faces, and especially the eyes of the crook, as well as their mouths and lips are so life like it's almost frightening. Also like the way you've shaded the air between them, it makes it look like they're standing in a dimly lit alley or something.
The one thing that bothers me would be batman's fingers, they look kinda croped...
Other than that great job
Thanks a lot. Charcoal is one of my favorite mediums to work in...and I actually find it easier than pencil. Go figure.
You know, a lot of people have mentioned that the fingers are short, but what's funny about that is that's how they look in my source photo--I'm assuming because his fingers are bent, but because he's wearing black gloves it's hard to see the definition. You can tell what I mean if you look at a photo from the scene that inspired the drawing: [link]
