Just a quick study of one of Delacroix's portraits of Chopin. It loosely resembles the actual painting--I didn't bother with being too accurate only because I set out to do a fast drawing that could maybe be used as a background prop for the film I'm working on.

Pastel on paper.

Looks great. I like the neutral colors. Also, even if you drew this fast, you still payed attention to small details, shading, etc. Nicely done.

Really lovely! I just had a go at pastels myself and though they were fun I found it difficult not to be bright and gaudy, but you have really good hues and tones here.

You know, I thought the very same thing as I was drawing it. If there's ever a Chopin movie in the works, Alan Rickman should be cast.
