The Winchesters by hever The Winchesters by hever
Watercolor painting of Dean and Sam Winchester from Supernatural. Because I always end up painting what I'm binging on Netflix.

I claim no ownership of the characters used in this piece. All rights to Supernatural belong to the creator, Eric Kripke, as well as Warner Bros. Television and Productions.

This is really awesome!  I like how you painted the different shades in Dean and Sam's face.  The folds in the clothing are amazing too.

Wicked! I like the blue highlights in their hair. This could be a book cover.

I love your attitude on painting. If they're this good you should be on Netflix more often.

This is really good! You did such a good job on the folds in the clothing especially. I've been wanting to start watching this show :)

Many thanks!
People had been telling me to watch it for years and I finally put it on in the background in my studio as I was painting...at first I thought it was "meh", but by the end of the first season I was hooked and I've been binging on it all summer. Totally recommend for an entertaining guilty pleasure.

Good bit of water colour work especially on the skintones which are damn hard to do well.

Stunning work!
I really like the overall composition and the balance.
Good job with their poses, looks like you captured them in the middle of action.
The background really suits the overall atmosphere, and watercolours are definately a clever choice!

Haha. Well good- it means the painting is circulating somewhat. :)

yeah, admittedly, I found it on Tumblr on accident. I didn't think I'd see it anywhere else or it was an older painting. I was so surprised to see it not ten minutes later in my inbox I think my sister thought I had gone insane, due to my laughter. These things never happen. So I have taken it upon myself to show everyone this painting. Hope you don't mind.

Hah, that is funny! Whenever I finish a new piece I try to post it everywhere I can in hopes that it will get around-- the internet is so vast that it's so hard for art to be seen-- so of course I don't mind if you show everyone, I truly appreciate it! Thanks! :)

No problem, it's a pretty awesome painting anyway. If only I had your skills...*sigh*
And I understand about the circulation problems, I can't get feedback for anything. Though, you seem to be having better luck than me :) Keep it up, seriously. Seeing high quality pics of the brothers makes me all happy. :)

Many thanks. I'm happy with how this one came out and it's nice to make work for an active fanbase.
And keep plugging away with your art--it can take a while to build up any sort of art following, but it comes with luck, persistence, and quality of work. If you need feedback on anything in particular, I'd be happy to take a look :)

Wow, this is truly amazing! The wrinkles on Dean's jacket are just phenomenal. I hope to be as good as you one day with my watercoloring skills.

Looks great! I really like the slightly mottled texture of the watercolor paints. The rendering on that hand holding the pistol (I don't know the characters' names) is pretty amazing too.

Many thanks! It does take practice--there's a certain degree of familiarity you need with the medium since unlike other paints you can't really cover up mistakes. I wrote up a tutorial (several years ago at this point, hah) on how I paint with watercolors if that's of any interest: hever.deviantart.com/art/Water... Thanks again :)

Yeah, it's been a very, very long time since I watercolored anything but I just love the look.  Thanks so much for the link to your tutorial-I will definitely reference it when I finally make my foray into watercolor again!

Extremely well realised. I am stunned that you used watercolours for this. The skin tones and the jacket texturing is done soooo well.
