I'm Not Saying Anything

Description

Part of my "Doesn't Say Anything" series
Please, if you are going to comment, take the time to sit back and think about it. A lot of hard work and thought (about 4 months of constructing an idea) went into this project.
I promise you that the photographs in this series are more than just images...

To further explain the "meaning" behind the series, I will take an excerpt from the book "Hare Brain, Tortoise Mind" by Guy Claxton:

Right from playschool, adults will be asking children: 'What are you trying to do?', or 'That's interesting; why did you do that?' And children quickly get the idea that they ought to know what they are up to, what they are trying to achieve; and be able to give an account of themselves, their actions and their motives, to other people. They come to assume, with their parents and teachers, that it is normal to be intentional, and proper to have explanations to offer.
As ever, there is no problem with this per se; it is a very useful ability. But when this purposeful, justificatory, 'always-show-your-reasoning' attitude becomes part of the dominant default mode of the mind, it then tends to suppress other ways of knowing, and makes one skeptical of any activity whose 'point' you cannot immediately, consciously see.

My thoughts:
What I'm trying to get across is that people look into things so much...so much that they lose sight of what the artist is really trying to say. We all get accustomed to having an explanation for everything because we've been trained that doing things without meaning is improper, so people have learned to over analyze in such a way that things loose meaning all together. Art doesn't always have to "say" something. And the photographs "don't say anything"....yet they say so much
It’s contradictory…which makes all the better.
