So.
My mother called to remind me that I said I would paint a lighthouse for her fiance so he wouldn't go out and buy another Thomas Kinkade. So I said, "Okay, I'll start it this weekend."
This is what I ended up painting...err...a lighthouse.
Priorities.
Gotta love 'em.
Anyway.
Oil on Wood. 8x10.
Jackie Earle Haley--someone I have great respect and admiration for. So naturally, he needs a portrait.
I had to get back to my classical realism roots...I've been focusing so much on scenic painting that I really needed to sit down, look at some Thomas Eakins, and paint my little heart out.
(p.s. Don't mind the glares. I've decided I can't fight them any longer.)

This man doesn't get enough attention. Drawing his face is so much fun it's criminal, he's like a living caricature. Outstanding! I really admire your ability to produce believable portraits without skewing the proportions while staying all the more painterly. Mad skills, my friend!
