Nothing is original. Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination. Devour old films, new films, music, books, paintings, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs, trees, clouds, bodies of water, light and shadows. Select only things to steal from that speak directly to your soul. If you do this, your work (and theft) will be authentic. Authenticity is invaluable; originality is nonexistent. And don't bother concealing your thievery—celebrate it if you feel like it. In any case, always remember what Jean-Luc Godard said: "It's not where you take things from—it's where you take them to."

VOTE for my art, maybe?
Hello watchers-
As I've mentioned before, I've entered the Supernatural Design Challenge to create a T-shirt design for official CW merchandise. The hope is that if I win, I can use the prize money as start up capital to sell prints of my art. I hope to invest in a high quality printer, open an Etsy store, and start selling at conventions.
If you'd like to support me in this endeavor, please vote for my design "Winchester Bros." here: https://supernaturaldesignchallenge.com/designs/winchester-bros-1.html
You can vote once a day for the next week and your help is greatly appreciated! There were a lot of really great designs submitted, so I
I've entered the Supernatural Design Challenge
I've entered a design to the Supernatural Design Challenge that CW is hosting. It's a hand painted watercolor portrait of our favorite brothers adapted into a more suitable t-shirt design. I even hand drew, painted, and lettered a banner so there wouldn’t be such a stark contrast between the hand-rendered and graphic elements.
There are a lot of amazing designs submitted already, but if you like my entry and want to give a traditional piece of art a fighting chance, reblog, tweet, repost, spread the word, and don't forget to vote for this design on April 7th.
You can find my design HERE and feel free to throw me a comment if you feel
New Art Blog and Print Store
Hello everyone-
Remember me? No? Oh. Welllll...hello anyway!
I've sort of fallen out of the dA community, but that doesn't mean that I'm gone.
I'm just writing to say that I've started a new blog that's all about art: my processes as a scenic artist, fine art, art topics that I encounter, even a little art history and some behind the scenes of professional theatre.
You can find the blog here: http://thirtyartsix.blogspot.com/
Also, I've started a print store where I'm selling prints of my Firefly, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones...etc fan art: http://society6.com/HevArtScenic
I'm pretty active on Twitter, so for updates, feel free to fo
Game of Thrones Armor
I've posted a few shots of my Game of Thrones Lannister armor that I made for Halloween on my tumblr: http://heverus.tumblr.com/post/12113514252/so-im-finally-posting-photos-of-my-game-of
It's made from a variety of materials including craft foam, foam coat, rope, faux leather, and embossing metal. The lion shoulder pieces were hand sculpted from clay. The cape and skirt were sewn by my lovely friend Kristin.

This is beautiful and fragile. It brings forth the sort of image of a unified existence, as opposed to the isolation artistry often brings.
